We’ve seen it on a Navigon 2100 using a modified install. I still have plenty of bugs to work out of this one & I'll take pics of Primo 2 when it's fully loaded & operational. Originally written for Mio brand devices, it has been successfully used on a couple other brands. ActiveSync works 100 on MioPocket so this is another bonus. It's not terribly difficult but you at least have to have an idea how a computer works to understand where stuff goes & what it does. You can always just pop out the SD card and restart and your Navman is back exactly the way it was. If any of you guys are interested in something like this let me know, I'll gladly help you with your GPS. This was a fun project that took all weekend to figure out, but now I have it down pretty good & will probably look for old GPS units to hack. Click iNav iGuidance icon on the MioPocket Navigation screen. You can find them on the net or download it from here.

Make sure you have 4 of the special DLLs files for it to work. Copy the iNav iGuidance folder to the SD card. It knows my Long/Lat, but there's no map for it yet. Installing iNav iGuidance 3.0 on Mio C520.

This program is only partially set-up because I ran out of room on the SD card to install the maps. It found my van down by the river, oh noooo!!!!!Īnd now iGo Primo 2. I got iGo8 working today & tested it, it works perfect. Now down to the brass tacks, GPS that works. The media folder with media apps this device never had. Here's the GPS icon menu after a little trimming, I'm only using 3 GPS apps.

It comes with default GPS icons, you add GPS apps to make them functional. Miopocket makes the buttons small & I needed a stylus, so I stole one of wife's paint brushes, works great! It starts in a Windows 3.1-ish desktop, then loads the touch screen icons.

I used a 4gb for mine & I already have to upgrade 8gb because the extra GPS/ Map files are HUGE. This GPS, like many others, uses a 2gb SD card for the OS & Map apps. Does MioPocket install to SD or to flash disk (SD-free) Both. Note that TomTom and Garmin devices are Linux-based and, hence, MioPocket (which is Windows CE-based) cannot run on them.

there is!!! It's call Miopocket, it's been around for a few years & it uses software that works with Windows CE based devices (I'm using Miopocket V4.0 ) Here's what it looks like. See the forums for those devices to learn how to tweak MioPocket to unlock them. They recommend you take it to Best Buy & have EEK! Squad work on it, & they no longer service them!Īs with anything (or at least most things I know of) I figured there MUST be a work around or hack to give this thing updates & make it work & of course. I found out the manufacturer doesn't supply map/firmware updates. I searched Google trying figure out what to do with this thing, it's free, powers up, just needs upgraded. Got it to boot into the Nav program, seemed to be ok, but the GPS chip wouldn't link to any satellites. I got it home, found a usb cord that fit, plugged it in & boom, it worked! I've never owned/used a GPS before this, so it was a learning experience for me. (along w/pair of 'brand new' Craftsman bolt cutters & a new pair of vice grips) Anyway, I found this Insignia NAV01 GPS in a junk car Friday. I still don't own a Smartfone, & I'm not much into gaming, but I've always had plenty of computers around. I presume that you guys will know how the crack this map, if not then let me know, it is all a bit involved.I've been known to be a computer nerd. Of course the OZ map v815_2059 to go with this is at: If you are having trouble with the cab installer let me know and I might be able to find a version that has been unpacked that will allow you to again just copy it onto the SD card. In terms of TT7 you do need a special wince version of the exe and data.chk files. When 1st loaded you will need to get it to "find" your GPS by using the autodetect feature in settings.
#Miopocket Sd Install archive
Unrar the archive then copy the iGO8 folder onto the SD card (don't copy the 2577 folder) then rename the application.dat file to iGO8.exe and then loadup all the content folders with maps, lang, voices etc and off you go.

#Miopocket Sd Install full
You will find the latest full R1 version 8.7 in this link: In terms of iGO8 you don't need to "install it" (via the 2577 folder) just copy the iGO8 folder onto an SD card then rename application.dat iGO8.exe in the iGO8 folder.
